Yeah for that period in time it was typical but it works for his audience and it was funny to them. I agree it wouldn't really be all that nowadays. It's the same as George Lopez making his Mexican jokes and how hackey that is seen nowadays compared to when he wass first telling them.

I watched a bit of Tom Segura this morning and I will always enjoy his comedy style. That smartass / sarcastic sense of humor but he's actually good at it.

I saw Jimmy Pardo around 18 months ago at a local comedy club. He put on the best live comedy show I’ve ever seen. Only about 5 to 10 percent of his act is pre-written. The rest is riffing on audience members. So if you ever go to see him, don’t sit up front unless you want to be a target of his jokes.
