bernie mac was a ****ing legend

Goofle 01-26-2015 10:52 AM

My fave comedian ever, though this isn't really his best work.

ReadyMadeFour64 01-26-2015 01:37 PM

The Unknown Comic is pretty funny.

These were just so funny to me.

I love Frankie Boyle, and Limmy as well. I think comedy is one of the few art forms where my country are excelling at the moment.

I remember him from the roast of Charlie Sheen.... too bad he's dead, he was a funny guy.

"i'm diabetic and i make fun of that. i'm a victim. i could lose a toe"

Goofle 02-07-2015 04:33 PM

One of my favourite routines.

Paul Smeenus 02-21-2015 09:45 PM

I've become such a fan, this guy is brilliant

He really is! Brilliant is the word.
I've been a fan of the Daily Show and the Colbert Report for years and this guy is simply better than any of those shows. Sure, it's slightly different, but imho, both funnier and more factual.
Great tv.

Black Francis 02-23-2015 11:42 AM

Patton oswalt
Jim jeffrey
David Cross
Bill Burr
Louis Ck
Dough stanhope
Dave attell
Patrice O'neal

Female comics:

Paula poundstone
Judy gold
Wand sykes
Lisa lampanelli

There's a few insult comics like Nick dipaulo and Jim norton that i like as show guest but their stand ups are not that great.

The only down side is that there's not enough of them (Oliver's shows). You're right, the comparison to Steward & Colbert is the first thing I think of, and I do love those guys, but Oliver is even better. Is it true that he's being mentioned as a likely candidate to take over as Stewart's replacement after he retires?

Yac 02-24-2015 12:11 AM

I don't know about that, aren't they employed by different networks ? Oliver just started with his show, if this was the plan all along I don't think it would happen this way...
We'll see, as long as Oliver has a show (whatever show it might be), I'm good.

This is for you, Frownie.

AltRocks 03-11-2015 09:28 PM

Been watching a lot of Russell Peters stuff recently.

Frownland 04-06-2016 08:17 PM

I've been watching a lot of Carlin clips on youtube lately, the man is my spirit animal.

I agree. A predictable favorite of mine is his "**** that ima cat" bit.

Frownland 04-06-2016 09:16 PM

^I was very close to posting that bit, but I remembered how much I loved the one I did put up. Don't blame that choice on me, ask the dog.

His death was a very, very sad day for me :( My husband felt similarly when Robin Williams died.

Black Francis 04-09-2016 09:08 PM

I saw Jezelnik's recent stand up and it was alright. the pacing of the jokes was a little slow but some jokes killed, especially the offensive ones.

Paul Smeenus 04-10-2016 11:07 AM

If you're squeamish about the filthiest language ever, do not watch this

JGuy Grungeman 04-10-2016 11:14 AM

Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Jeff Dunham, Chris Rock, Bill Cosby. Those might be my top 5. I don't watch a lot of stand up, but these are my favorites from what I've seen and heard before.

Kinda reminded me of Stewart Lee. Good stuff.

Black Francis 04-10-2016 04:47 PM

idk much about english comics but if he's similar to jeselnik i'll check him out. Also Doug Stanhope is the man.

Im with you on Robin and Chris but i can't stand Jeff Dunham. (no offence) Him and Gabriel iglesias are one of the few comics i can't stand.

JGuy Grungeman 04-10-2016 06:48 PM

Yeah, I was weary of stating that. I guess I like ventriloquism. And if he's the guy to use commonly used jokes, well, I heard him use them first.

You know that the objective of a comedian is to be funny, right? I'm not sure how Dunham has any pull in that aspect.

Good for you to admit puddin' pops is in your top 5. One tends to forget someone's talent when they've raped hundreds of chicks.

Then you have no sense of humor. By the way, when exactly was your soul ripped out?

It's probably you that has no sense of humour, since I have taste enough to discern what's awful and what isn't. You seem to be all for whatever nonsense all these other people dig, as if the vast majority of people that we sit among aren't ****ing morons (it's a real lottery, who knows! Me or even you might be one of those same morons). It must have been through one of the four or so specials of his I've had to sit through to establish my opinion when I was discovering how he absolutely sucks where I lost my soul, which seems to be a synonym for "blindly accept every ****ty comedian who happens to be popular."

I wouldn't be surprised. Sacrificing the souls of his hapless viewers to Satan seems to be the only way to explain his success.

ChelseaDagger 04-11-2016 08:33 AM

At the risk of agreeing with Frownland, I have to agree there's nothing funny about a ventriloquist who has women chained up against their will in his basement... I apologize for the redundancy in the last half of that statement.

Anyway, any Bill Burr fans here??

Black Francis 04-11-2016 08:52 AM

Now that's someone who's funny.

ChelseaDagger 04-11-2016 09:07 AM

Indeed. More Bill...

Black Francis 04-11-2016 09:17 AM

Even Schwarzenegger is funnier than Dunham

I don't know if you are posting that to be ironic or not. But in my opinion Arnold is absolutely hilarious. He's my comedy hero.

Arnold Schwarzenegger on Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

JGuy Grungeman 04-11-2016 09:42 AM

OK, I'm not gonna ask, but I googled these things you guys szid and found nothing. And Frownland's clearly agitated, so I'll just leave this conversation.
