I dunno why but I actually like listening to debates for the most part more than podcasts like Chapo. I guess I just like picking apart arguments and deriving my own insight/arguments from them... It's a bit more engaging to me. It's mostly a way to keep occupied at work

Chapo is ok but they're a bit too hipster for me.. And a bit too political junkie. I don't get half the references they make cause I'm not that tuned in to the tedious details of Washington politics. I find Sam seder from the majority report more informative than anyone else when it comes to that sorta thing but it's pretty dry so I don't listen to him much anymore

The antifada is hosted by that Jamie broad from MR right? Honestly I think she's dumb as hell lol. Pretty cute though. . I will look out for some of the other suggestions you made though.

Lately I've been trying to listen to perspective philosophy and his ethics debates... And some destiny debates on ethics as well. Destiny is less educated but more fiery/entertaining... Where as perspective philosophy seems to know his **** but it's pretty dry and I only understand half of it....

Chapo are hipster? I think you're using that word wrong. And I never thought of Jamie as dumb. Just stonery and enthusiastic about commie jargon that makes you sound goofy. The Antifada has good conversations and guests but they do have a tendency to get pretty pinko in a way that a more cynical person like you or me kinda nods along to but I still like their energy.

Everyone should listen to Behind the Bastards though. They talk about some heavy **** but the host is a funny eccentric who keeps things light and it's never like a lecture. Back before the pandemic when they were in a proper studio Robert Evans the host would regular throw bagels at the wall and swing around a machete while his producer tried to reign in his nonsense. The only podcast I've bought merch for.

I feel that but at the same time if you tell leftists and potential leftists that you have to do all this homework if you want to be part of the movement then the left will only exist in academia. Obviously theory is important but if you can't draw in people with simpler ideas like democracy in the workplace and billionaires are bad then it's not going to grow into anything. Joe Six-Pack who doesn't read needs to be comfortable just wanting an end to bosses ruling their life without having any say in the matter.

I really don't care about the movement tbh.... I'm not listening to any of the other people under the impression that it makes a difference. It's just entertainment to me. It's just semi educational/mentally stimulating entertainment. Since I don't have the energy, time or inclination to sit down and actually educate myself lol

Had to look that one up and apparently in 2007 he was put in prison for smuggling Russian women into America to work as maids. Sounds potentially shady obviously but I don't really give a **** about illegal immigration and I didn't see anything necessarily sinister just on a cursory glance.
