Upload one to your account, then share the link. It's pretty simple. Keep in mind that copywrite laws apply though, and they keep a close eye on those things. Mediafire is isn't as picky about it.

Yeah, I've never seen a download link from Google Drive, so I'll take the hint. A decent portion of the stuff I get is from Mediafire though, so I imagine it must be safer.

Well then, 100 Bullets issue #1.

Who's ready to discuss?

I already started, buttmunch.

The concept is certainly interesting though, and first issues aren't always where a comic truly shines, so I'm not passing final judgement yet. I have two main problems. First, the slang. It's far from the worst slang I've seen in a comic/movie/TV show/book, but nerdy white guys writing slang for gang members is almost always cringe-inducing. It works well enough that it's only a bit distracting, but seeing words like "homes" and "cheddar" get thrown around with such alarming frequency is still kind of goofy.

My big issue though is the pacing. Again, I know it's a first issue, and they're probably still working out the kinks, and they have to tell a story while introducing the concept at the same time, but the drama still feels rushed. It seems like scenes just kind of come one after the other, without much momentum getting built up along the way.

Spoiler for spoiler:
It doesn't excuse the conversation in the garage though. A girl meets her brother for the first time in years, and it immediately turns into a discussion on the nature of death and regret? That's not a bit of an awkward turn of conversation?

The artwork is pretty excellent though. I find that a more simplistic color pallet, combined with only as much detail as necessary, can actually be more immersive than excess detail. I guess the simpler textures make the images feel somehow more solid and engaging. The contrast of muted blues and purples, set off by oranges and browns, all bordered with pitch black that give the feeling of encrouching darkness, also add a nice creepy surrealism to the book too.

I'm definitely curious to see how the series evolves, even if I'm not blown away right off the bat.

Today I took a little stroll to my nearest comic book store and finally managed to find this title there. I got a collection of the first six issues so I'll definitely be reading all of that regardless of what happens with this club. For now, though, I breezed through the first issue over some massaman curry at a nearby Thai restaurant.

Like Batlord mentioned, it's pretty hard to judge a series based on one issue, but so far it seems pretty good. I like the concept of the hundred bullets. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that it's set in Chicago right around the time I lived there. I dug those references (including the real gang they mentioned). The art is above average for a comic though certainly not mind-blowing. The heroine seems plucky, tortured and pretty sexy, so I'm a fan of her. I guess we'll see what happens. I'm curious what this mystery guy with the guns and bullets is all about.

I'm curious if he's legitimately some law enforcement/government guy, or if he's supposed to be some avatar/metaphor for Satan, or God, or whatever.

It does seem pretty faustian. I'm also curious what the hell that guy was talking about right before the guy with the bullets got on the train. "Sixty tray all day"? What the fuck does that mean?
