I gave up about a year ago. Im so hooked on ultima online since this new player server came out that i havent done much of anything else. Battlegrounds did look really cool and i watch zalae stream on occasion to keep up with whats going on. Did they do a card release for DoD yet?

Descent of Dragons is out today.

I naturally pulled a gold copy of arguably the coolest card in the whole set:

Overall it's pretty dope stuff. Really cool expansion

Nice :)

Unfortunately Descent of Dragons was a total mess on release. Shaman got blatantly outrageous stuff and it has resulted in one of the least balanced metas I've ever seen. Only two classes have above 50% winrate:

Priest at 36.6 is ****ing hilarious, that's maybe the worst class winrate in the history of the standard format. Luckily Blizzard already came out and announced on Reddit that nerfs are planned for next week, however it's very disappointing that they ****ed up so bad and ruined the first few days of the expansion which are usually the most fun time to be a Hearthstone fan

Is it just a continuation of their swarm of 1 drop thingers that make more of themselves and have a ton of value and synergy? I feel like all zalae did was dominate on shaman last expansion.

It's a lot of things

For starters they printed arguably the strongest neutral card of all-time which happens to work really well in Shaman:

Like seriously that thing is so stupid it makes Zilliax look weak

Then they gave Shaman the strongest Galakrond, alongside the best Galakrond activators and the best Galakrond payoff card. When fully upgraded the Shaman Galakrond reads:

https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/heart...f56851a87c0d49
7 mana: Gain 5 armor. Equip a 5/2 weapon. Summon two 8/8 Elementals with Rush.

Like...what the **** man.

Then they gave Shaman this as well:

5 mana summon two 5/6 Taunts....like that just single handedly demolishes 80% of the meta.

It's dumb man

Why soes blizzard suck so hard at mitigating power creep? Those are pretty bonkers.

Hit legend this season which is pretty crazy, I honestly never thought I would do it again. I got to rank 2 by just having fun and not really specifically trying for it, and at that point I figured I might as well finish the push. I hit legend once way back in the day during like The Grand Tournament meta or something, and it was such a bitch that I didn't think it would be worth it. I definitely had some frustrating losses on this push but overall it was fun. Blizzard has been very proactive with nerfs and currently the meta is pretty cool, so I guess that's why I was willing to make the effort

edit oops that screenshot is enormous. oh well

Did you play rogue most of the way through? Playing any of the highlander decks?

I agree, they've been doing a great job. Havent played the last 3-4 expansions but i still watch streams reguarly and follow the meta.

I actually played both: Highlander Rogue was the list I used for the final push. I got to rank 2 with a Galakrond Shaman and then had middling 50% winrate success with like 10 different decks before I settled on Highlander Rogue and I went 18-8 on the final climb.

Who's your favorite streamer? I'm a huge fan of J_Alexander and I actually owe my success to him honestly, I've gotten so much better at Rogue since watching him regularly
