Exactly!

It will be fine, your precious rangers are safe. I used to be a huge Power Rangers junkie in my childhood as well but Power Rangers is such a loose interchangeable type of show. Didn't you follow all the other series that came after the original. They just tossed in more nobody teens and came up with different themes. So what if they are changing around races that don't fit with names from the original. It will be perfectly fine. It's just Power Rangers.

Chinese girl named Trini Lang is being played by the Mexican-heritage singer Becky G. Not being very accurate. I understand racial diversity in movies, but not to the point where it's not making sense.

If you ask me, they should get Taylor Lautner for Jason. Lautner already has plenty of experience as an actor, and he's more than familiar with martial arts. I saw his episode of America's Most Talented Kids a while back on a rerun, and I was surprised to see one of the stars of the then-upcoming Sharkboy and Lavagirl there. But he's an actor, and he's familiar with martial arts. As a popular model as well, Lautner could bring in money, and I can totally see him playing Jason. It doesn't look like most of these actors have experience with martial arts, which means stuntmen might be seriously involved. I have no problem with stuntmen in a Power Rangers movie, but are the actors themselves going to fight?

As far as Zach goes, why the hell not Jaden Smith? He's done martial arts in The Karate Kid, and he's the proper age. He just needs to learn some dance moves. If they can get Bryan Cranston for Zordon... I understand not wanting the black guy to be the black ranger, but isn't that kind of going overboard with the whole political correctness deal? If they want black people to be proud of their heritage, why not be the black ranger as far as children's TV goes? That's better than anything I can think of.

Which brings me to Zordon. Cranston's a great actor, but I can't see him playing a mysterious, wise old wizard stuck in a multi-dimensional time warp. I'd have chosen someone younger, since Zordon's whole thing (next to being a holographic floating head) is that he looks under middle aged despite being more than 10,000 years old.

Trini, any skilled martial arts actress with Chionese heritage.

I think they made a good choice for Kimberly's actress, though. She looks a little like her.

For Billy, one choice would be Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mallark). He has experience as an actor, and I can see him playing the nerdy ranger.

I have no problem with Elizabeth Banks as Rita. Banks can pretty much play anything. Maybe not as well as most actors with that skill, but she can.

Also, I only grew up with the original team, and everythnig from Wild Force to Mystic Force. I grew out of it when Operation Overdrive came out, since I felt they were just recycling the whole Turbo and Light Speed Rescue deal.

They should make a Fallout movie. It would either do really bad, or really ****ing good. Preferably take influence from Fallout 3 and have it be based on a post-apocalyptic Washington DC.

Oh...wait...

They're making an adaptation of the Dark Tower series. And if they do it properly, it should feel like a cross between Fallout and Lord Of The Ring. But it's hollywood. They won't stay faithful and **** it up.

Still, the casting choices make me question how well they'll further represent/reinvent the original series. As a former Power Rangers junkie in my childhood, I would like my nostalgic tendencies not to be tampered with like most people got with Michael Bay. The costumes look cool, but I hope it's not totally reinvented.
You sound like someone bitching about whitewashing. As long as the actor is good, who gives a ****.

You wouldn't have Undercover Brother played by Dave Bautista, would you? Appearance does matter in representation. Heck, that was one of the main complaints about the Green Lantern movie from what I hear.

If he Dave can do justice to the role, why not? Though people would freak out if they did black face...

If it's done properly, i'll be all over that. I think a post-apocalyptic movie based on Fallout could do really well. Bethesda is really good about making stories in games, so a movie is a no brainer. Plus, i'm of the opinion that games to movies works really well, granted that's an unpopular opinion. I loved Prince of Persia, and the Assassins Creed movie is supposed to be pretty good.
