This show is pretty ****in legit. Season 1 was the best so far but we're just starting in on season 3. Steller casting, creepy ass ****, sexytimes, violence... what more can a brotha ask for?

Thoughts?

I have the first two episodes on my DVR for season 3 but haven't watched them yet. I've been hearing stellar things about Kathy Bates' character.

I missed out on the season 2. I need to go back and watch that at some point in time.

I think I saw her in a Stephen King movie a long ass time ago but I don't remember much about the film. So far, she hasn't had much going on for her yet. Season 2 was pretty killer too but there were moments when it kinda dragged on and I got a little bored sometimes. Other people I know who like the show say it was better than S1. Different strokes, I guess.

So far there's a definite theme of prejudice, what with this series focusing on witches and being partially set during America's slavery era. Catching a female-empowerment vibe too, which is cool because a lot of the female characters in the first two seasons were at times the typical "damsel-in-distress" nonsense. Jessica Lange is kind of the same character she was in the first two seasons but is still pretty awesome, borderline GILFy if anyone's into that. Her presence on camera is really stunning.

Yes, the movie she was in was called Misery and I was told that she has a Misery vibe going for her in this season even though they just give glimpses of her so far. I think they were saying she's the overall big bad for the season but idk I felt so spoiled so I was trying to tune out what they were talking about. I'm going to watch the two episodes later on tonight.

I'm not really impressed by Mrs. Bates so far. I loved the first season, skipped the second, and am very unimpressed by this season. Maybe it'll get better.

If I'm not mistaken this season has a different cast for writers, so far I'm not impressed either. It's still a little early to tell but Ep.2 was a bit of a let down.

I have the first season on DVD. Really enjoyed it. Just a complete mind screw. Confusing as it is that's part of the appeal. 2nd season is coming out soon. Am afraid of the quality considering the reception...

Whew, I was worried after episode 2 that the show was going to pull a nip/tuck and start to suck massive chode with this season but after tonight's episode my faith has been restored. Great show! Glad to see it starting to go somewhere.

I watched the first episode and got freaked out! I mean of the first series. I need someone to watch it with so I have protection. Who's house should I visit?

I'd invite you but San Francisco is a loooooooooong way from New Zealand. So far S1 has been the scariest. After that it relies more on being disturbing than jump-scares.

Yeah. I love the disturbing stuff more. I'm loving the third season. I like witches and voodoo priests.

I have a feeling Season 3 is going to top Season 1 as my favorite though.

What was wrong with season 2?

I haven't seen Season 2 yet but just from other people I've heard that it wasn't that great.

Zachery Quinto was in it though so I don't think it's as bad as they are making it out to be.

Okay. He's a good actor so its probably not that bad.

Tonights ep was pretty cool, there's zombies in it so that's like +50 points right there. Kathy Bates' character is still pretty small potatoes but well done.

One gripe I have with the show is the editting. Sometimes they do this thing where they cut from one character to another over and over again and each time they use a retarded angle and a stupid sound effect in between cuts and kjajngfjkanflanf it drives me crazy. It's corny, cliche, and annoying. STOP IT. **** man.

Anyhoot, that girl is really not my type and I hate her character- she's vain, self-absorbed, entitled, and bratty. None of those things are sexy to me. I'd rather punch her face than put my thing anywhere near it. To each their own, I suppose. What's interesting about this season is that it doesn't actually have as much sex-appeal as the first two did, at least not so far. There were times, especially in S1, where it seemed like they were using sex to keep people interested. Worked on me, but it seems kinda lame in retrospect.

This show sucks. Where is the Season One magic? Oh yeah, writers. Shame.

I couldn't watch it after the first season honestly. The bat**** crazy segue was lost on me. Originally it had a great plot development and was wonderfully written and acted, but it grew stale early in the 2nd season.

Consider it done, I'll edit my other post. Maybe I just remember S1 one being more sexual/graphic. And what is this magic website that is legit and probably doesn't want my SS number and won't hack my email address?

Also, to the S2 haters, it gets better sort of. They just got really disorganized and tried to do too much within one season.

Reaally like this show. Season one was incredible...and I really dont care for the Horror genre at all. Season 3 is good so far, great writing. Can't remember really ever watching a boring episode.

Misty is totes my fav. I love the scene where she's just grabbin all their food like s'no big deal. Lily Rabe and Jessica Lange are great actresses, the rest are kinda lettin me down if I'm being honest. Especially the one who plays Zoe ("Plain Jane"). She was great in S1 but this one... meh. She's not good at portraying strength which is an uber bummer since she's probably the next supreme and will have to be doing a lot of that. The VooDoo witch is pretty cool but every time there's a scene with her in it they start doing that stupid thing with the editing and it's just overdramatic and laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. Stevie Nikks is supposedly gonna make a cameo soon, too.

This is the only season I've actually watched :) I got into it just because of the **** I'd see on tumblr

S1 was the best so far, imo. S2 started off good but started going off in too many directions. I'm hopin S3 doesn't make the same mistake.

I started to re-watch S1 which, knowing how it all plays out isn't as fun as I'd hoped. The music was waaaaaaaaaay better in S1 too, I never noticed how much the orchestra added to the show's moods. Maybe they didn't have the budget for it in S2 and 3.

Season 4 is off to kind of a slow start but I'm digging the cast. Evan Peter's new character is a real shocker. And I'm happy to see Sarah Paulson's back too. Kathy Bate's character is a little dry so far. I'm hoping the backstories for these characters are as exciting as they were in S2 and that it doesn't take a divebomb towards the end of the season. It's really hard to tell where the story arch is gonna go, an hour long pilot and hardly any foreshadowing whatsoever.
