Why is each episode an hour and 20 minutes?

took me all damn day thanks to Amazon's terrible video service but I'm finally caught up to ep3.

Spoiler for spoilers:
Goddamn, the son character- the one with the rich mom... I hate him. He's so damn annoying and lousy and just ugly. I hate his stupid face. The Killer Clown thing is a tad cliche but I guess it fits the carny theme. Hope the kids get out... the brother character not so much. I have a feeling the clown's gonna snap and kill the rich kid. Fingers crossed. I was worried when it seemed like Kathy Bates's character was gonna be cut short, she's a kind of minor role so far and it is pretty early in the season but I do like her this time around. Her character in Coven was awful. I wonder who Mordrake is gonna kill instead... I bet it's gonna be the strongman guy.

This show is really losing me. It has so much potential thematically and it's like it relies on cheap gimmicks and pointless side stories to compensate for not following through. This latest season is the worst so far it's just bouncing back and forth aimlessly with no real plotline just random events and characters popping in and out. S'a shame. Asylum really was the best so far but it doesn't have much competition.

I'm not caught up with this series but I'm sure everyone's aware that the seasons are suppose to be connected? They'll probably drag out each new season until the end is near and sloppily tie it all together somehow.

I had no idea, I thought they were each supposed to be completely different and unrelated... I can't imagine how they would connect everything though, every season so far has been scattered as hell already.

Yeah, that won't be an easy feat. Apparently a script was stolen off the set of the newest season which revealed how the pinhead character (can't remember her name) made it into the asylum in the second season. That's the only connection I've read about. Again, haven't seen the 3rd or 4th season so I have no idea. Don't really see how you could connect seasons 1 and 2 in any way shape or form. Maybe it's bull****, but an interesting concept either way.

That pretty much sums up why I can't stand this show in general.

I think seasons 1 and 2 had enough continuity to be interesting, s2 especially. Season 3 started off interesting but dropped the ball by having too much filler. Season 4 feels like it's all pointless filler and no actual direction. It's a sloppy mess. It's irritating, why not just make shorter seasons and/or episodes that focused on something coherent instead of running in a million directions?? I feel like The Walking Dead has begun to make the same mistakes, too.
