If they had fast zombies and not CGI zombies, I wouldn't have hated the film as much as I did. For example, the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. I can actually watch the movie because even though it utilizes fast zombies, they're actual people who are running.
Remember in The Mummy Returns during the end of the film when the Scorpion King comes out as a giant scorpion with The Rock's face plastered on it? I honestly don't see THAT much of a difference between that and the CGI zombies in WWZ. Pacific Rim had some great effects and was so grandiose that I enjoyed it but I still didn't believe the monsters were real. I grew up watching and rewatching films such as Alien, Romero movies, and John Carpenters The Thing. I watched them over and over again. They spoiled me. |
