Part of me is actually glad...I was worried it was going to be Joseph Gordon-Levitt which would mean it is actually a direct continuation of the Christopher Nolan trilogy. That would have really pissed me off because that series is near perfect as a trilogy and there's absolutely no need to keep going with it. Now I can at least convince myself that they aren't treading on those good stories. Ben Affleck can ruin this if he wants to, I don't care.

I was worried about Joseph being Batman just because he'd be a horrible Batman. I don't need someone who looks and sounds like he's twelve pretending to be Batman.

I can't actually see JGL as Batman.

Exactly what I thought after hearing this...after the numerous jokes about it to my friends of course.

It's not like Michal 'Mr Mom' Keaton is a guy I'd have cast as Batman back in '89, but that worked out just fine as well. I loved the Dark Knight trilogy to bits, and I'm glad that it's not being exhumed for this crossover.

As for Affleck, he was superb in Chasing Amy, one of my favourite movies of all time. Very different film from what this will be, of course, but I'm ok to give him a chance to prove himself as Batman all the same.

I kind of feel sorry for Henry Cavill, it seems like WB has such little faith in Superman as a character that they have to bring in Batman and a big movie star to try and sell his next movie.

Not really. Ben probably got signed up for it because they want him to direct as well. He's probably going to helm the Justice League movie. He's signed up to play Batman in numerous films.
