i dunno why its like my ultimate guilty pleasure. it will probably be cancelled soon, the ratings are terrible and worse year after year. wondering if anyone ever watched this show and if they had any favorite characters or moments cause ive watched it for like 10 years |

curiosity is going to get the best of me one of these days but I may have to go on an expedition through YOUR world and find out what's different about it.
Basically what the tv show The Real World is about is they brought seven strangers together to live in a house and go to work on a certain project. Turn on the cameras, have jacuzzis and watch young people get into drama filled situations where they go out drinking and either pick up local girls or hook up with each other, get into bitch fests and that's about it. Oh another main part of The Real World is they always pick a specific city in the US to focus on. So it would be like The Real World: Portland or The Real World: San Diego etc. I always preferred Road Rules and the Challenge series. Road Rules was more active and at times like a scavenger hunt. It was pretty fun to follow. I started watching the challenge for this season at the beginning but I just completely forgot about it and haven't watched more than the first episode.

basically, it's a show that's probably about 25 years old by now. the appeal is that it puts 7 strangers in a house for a few months and just films their interactions and lives.
there is usually a gay person, a bi-racial person, a black guy, etc. in the beginning the people they picked were 'normal' types of people. i remember one year there was a girl in med school on the show which would just never happen today. over the years theyve migrated towards choosing extreme characters with big time personalities for drama purposes. they used to have everyone in the house hold a job at an mtv-chosen work place, but anymore that isnt important or a focal point which is part of why the show is demising imo. so they kinda built all these people, over many seasons, into semi celebrities and started having challenges with different themes. men vs women, rivals on the same team, rookies vs veterans, etc. writing that all out it sounds incredibly stupid. but like i said, the challenges especially are my guilty pleasure. unfortunately most of the people have become friends over the years and theres a hierarchy wiht the challenges so certain ppl always run the house, but i still watch and have my favorites i root for |

My favorite member was that cowboy guy from the first real world i don't remember his name or why i liked him in the first i just remember he was very friendly and he wore a hat ^^
My fav cast though was the San francisco one because it's the one i remember the most and even with that i barely remember it in fact i can pretty much sum up the whole series with 2 words.. AIDS and Peanut butter The early real worlds were "more real" so they were pretty uneventful they weren't boring or anything but they weren't as oversexed as the real worlds that followed They had drama in the house but it wasn't punch-snooky-in-the-face drama it was more like real roommate drama.. (as real as roommates followed by a camera gets) i stopped watching it because i had enough of it really.. the last one that i watched for reals was the Vegas one
