Correct.

Well, apart from the lower case units but for some reason my iPod insisted on making everything lower case when I posted or saved the edit and I lost interest before I figured out why.

I figured you meant bytes, not bits, as both the M and K have no lower-case association.

Yeah I guess you can't get a millibyte.

While we're on the subject. What's the difference between bits and bytes?

If I have a song that's 7.5 MB, is that megabytes? or megabits?

1 byte = 8 bits

MB = megabyte

File size will always refer to bytes (kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes). There is a megabit but this is used in relation to data transfer rates (internet connection speeds).

Speaking of Megabits, I checked my personal email today for some reason and Cox had a message there saying they raised my download to 25 Mbps. I had the 17 Mbps package. I checked my speed when I got home, and it was basically true.
I asked myself, why would Cox do this? What is in it for them?

Then I realized... they want me to download things illegally.

OK!

I guess you can argue entrapment?

I guess I could argue in court that the only way to reasonably test download speeds would be to download from a torrent, since most hosting sites limit bandwidth per connection. Then I could reason that the only torrents I could find for such a test was like a bunch of music, some games and a software title or two, just to verify that, indeed, my connection speed has been upgraded.

Janszoon 03-12-2013 10:34 PM

I guess you could argue that they are cox.
