What Are Your Favorite Scenes in Movies or TV Shows?
I searched all over this place for a thread like this and I couldn't find one so...
So yeah post yo favorite scenes |
Hahahah I completely agree with #2, that is a movie moment I will never forget. I laughed so hard, and I still laugh when I think about it. I love Shaun of the Dead. I keep trying to get my bf to watch it and he finds the first half too boring. Whatever, he has no soul.

Monty you terrible cunt! |
Spoiler for Movie Stuff:

possible spoilers in this one |
Way too many for me to think of so here's the first one that popped into my head
Best vampire movie ever. |
Movie scenes I'd really have to think about, but...

One of my friends who also likes the show sent me this vid the other day. :D |
Hell yes, Breaking Bad is such a good show, I can't wait for the final season this summer. ****'s gonna be crazy!

I'm going to mix and match my favorite scenes and my favorite shots. Yes, I believe there is a difference. Sometimes an actual shot has just a lasting impression as a memorable scene without having anything actually happen. I don't know if they'll be anything fitting that certain criteria but you'll see what I mean...
(5:20 and on) This film is the pinnacle of how to use light and shadow. It's a work of ****ing art. (Can you tell I love tracking shots yet?) (How Shaw didn't get any awards for this role is beyond me) I'm not done...more to come |
Urban.....i don't think a day goes by where i don't quote Top Secret
my personal favorites "oh don't mind him....he's just a little horse" "i know a little German....he's sitting over there" classic |

I don't like to be emotionally manipulated and I don't go in for sentimentality or schmaltz so this scene from Shadowlands based upon the true story of the author C.S Lewis's love for American poet Joy Gresham is all the more poignant due to the lack of both.
I really feel that Anthony Hopkins is not even acting here, he is drawing on some tragedy in his past and letting it out on screen and director Richard Attenborough knows this and let's the scene unfold without any unnecessary background music or edits. Stunning scene and absolutely superb film that I really should watch again after a few years away. In fact I have held back watching this clip until I have completed this post and happy with my wording as it holds even more power now than it did when I first saw it many years ago for obvious reasons. |

This may be my favourite scene in any film. This movie has tons of great scenes though.

My clip has a heavy dose of schmaltz, I´m afraid, with Rachmaninov´s Piano Concerto helping the sentiment along, but in this movie director David Lean was actually pioneering some of today´s taken-for-granted, cynically exploited movie effects. What I hope our clips have in common is the sympathetic way they show how the British often cope with strong emotion. So much is repressed, but in this clip Celia Johnson conveys plenty, even when working with lines as unpromising and dispassionate as "Yes, of course, steelworks." :- |
For more drama set in mundane cafeterias, I just remembered this scene from Mike Leigh´s Secrets and Lies:-
Hortense is a young, adopted, black woman. Because of the recent death of her adoptive mother, she is now searching for her birth mother. By phone, she arranges to meet Cyththia Purley outside a London tube station. When they meet, Cynthia is confused, but trying to be helpful, she agrees to go for a cup of tea with Hortense to talk about her search .... Spoiler for Brenda Blethyn´s finest hour:
I put the spoiler tags because it´s a key scene from the movie, and you may want to get yourself a handkerchief before you click to witness Brenda Blethyn´s performance. |
Almost everyone has watched Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, so I don't feel the need to link to a video. But the scene before the battle where Padme says, "I truely, deeply love you, and before I die, I want you to know." to Anakin. And I can't believe I chose a romantic scene over an action scene, but I'm that way sometimes.
|
not really a scene, but I died laughing first time I saw this episode "Call the fire department this ones outta control!" |
American Beauty - Lester Burnham. Like a boss. A marvelous movie in general, but this scene is great.
Twin Peaks - Absolutely classic. Amelie - Wonderful. I actually had a hell of a time trying to pick just one scene from this film. So many stand out, but this one is gorgeous. Smiley Face - This movie made me laugh a lot. |
Couldn't find it on Youtube but I love the ending scenes of "The Milagro Beanfield War". Don't want to give it away to anyone who hasn't seen the film. It's a beautiful ending and I love the score from Dave Grusin.
|
My all time favorite movie scene has to be Lethal Weapon. where Mel Gibson is slowly walking up on the guy in the school window with the AK, calmly staring him down, then taking him out with his pistol.
to think at this point we all thought he was just ACTING crazy. |

Oh! And of all the great scenes/lines in Arrested Development, I don't know why, but this one made me cry laugh.
There were a lot more, but this one really just made me laugh like a maniac. |
One of the best Series Finales ever.
Six Feet Under Spoiler for Final Scene:
Loved this scene from Number 23. I don't even care that other people hated the movie. I'll pop in the dvd every now and then to re-watch it. A deleted scene from Sucker Punch that would have explained a tiny bit of the ending a bit more. Cheif's escape scene in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest! |
Chief's escape scene in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was fantastic. Oddly reminded me of another great scene I've not mentioned...and one that I reenacted at least 100 times in high school because it oddly filled those who witnessed it with absolute glee:
From "The Silence of the Lambs" In my reenactment, I was Bill, the girl, and Precious. I also love this one, because you see some manner of turmoil on Jame Gumb's face during the ordeal, but he really ****ing wants that woman suit. Prior to taunting her screaming, he seemed a bit distressed, trying to stay "professional," sticking to his rehearsed dialogue... |
I always wondered how in a year where Silence of the Lambs won a bunch of Oscars, how Ted Levine didn't get recognized for his performance. Loved it.

I liked it too, but there are some actors I *didn't* like in that movie, the girl that Levine/Bill kidnaps is pretty poor IMO, as are most of the supporting cast. That movie is nearly entirely Foster, Hopkins and Levine IMO. Oh, and Demme's direction. |

Caught "Network" tonight and always loved this scene with Ned Beatty:
|
One of the funniest scenes from the early days of television
|
Soo, hands down my favourite scene.
|
One of the best lines ever. |
