Clearly you've never seen the scene out of context. Cause it's hilariously unrealistic. I'm entirely open to this being a good thing while watching the movie, but as of this point I'm loling. Let me reiterate, I'm totally down with watching this movie and loving that scene in the way that it was intended, but now it's goofy.

Idk, it's pretty apparent that he gives off too much of a menacing vibe for the gas station attendant to stand up to him. Confidence is key, but you wouldn't know that so of course you think it's unrealistic.

No, I get that, and was considering it, but still that dude should have not been picking up what that dude was putting down and told him to **** off and then got shot.

And where would the scene go from there?

And they'd have to write another scene establishing how Anton's moral code is based on chaotic means.

Glad we're on the same page.

I always get warm and fuzzy when we align.

The attendant has spent his entire life in that "aw shucks" small town.
He tries small talk and this ridiculously scary looking dude confronts him in a very menacing way.
He immediately realizes "Oh ****". Sugar is a lot bigger and younger than he is.
He tries to retreat but Sugar is having nothing of it. His phsycopathic game clock is already ticking.

If you watch the movie and everything that led up to us understanding who Sugar actually is, the scene is beyond intense.

I could totally be onboard with that dude being utterly terrifying (to us) by that point so that you aren't even thinking about it, cause he seemed ****ing terrifying (cause I'm watching a movie knowing that this dude is supposed to be a psycho), but I don't buy that some gas station attendant would be thinking anything other than, this dude is an annoying *******. And after a certain point I imagine they'd be like, well, I've given this dude a certain amount of leeway, but GOD DAMNIT **** THIS *******!!!

That scene just feels just like a scene. A fun scene for people who are into the movie, but a scene.
