Those shootouts don't hold a candle to the craziness of Hard Boiled. The majority of this scene had to be done in one take, and the actors were basically ordered to keep going no matter what (since, after six previously failed takes, and a budget that was running out, they literally couldn't afford to make any more mistakes). The actors managed to get through this last chance without stopping, despite the fact that a piece of glass from a shattered window sliced through one of Tony Leung's eyeballs as they were filming.

Insane. Best closed space (indoor) shootout scene for sure.

The best part is that the two main characters never actually changed floors. When the elevator doors closed, the film crew quickly ran out, cleaned up, and changed everything around, so that it looked like a different level when the doors opened up again.

Ahaha, that's awesome! It must've taken them forever to get that just right, but it was definitely worth it.

And I also have to mention these two all-time favorites of mine, both from The Wild Bunch... |

Two brilliant scenes from one of my favourite movies, Dead Man's Shoes, from director Shane Meadows. One of those films that sticks in your head. Very gritty and real.
And here's a funny scene from This is England '86, another Shame Meadows film. Last edited by Mr. Charlie; 09-17-2015 at 07:22 AM. |
