Xbox One vs. PS4
There's been much speculation about both consoles at this point, but now it's time to decide. I choose a Playstation 4. From the knowledge you've garnered from watching E3 conference videos and the reveal of both consoles, which do you choose? Speculate and discuss.

Well Xbox dropped the used game bull**** and the need to be online so it is really a fair race now.

Right, so they definitely did scrap those ideas then?
I have far from looked into anything extensively, but from what I did read about the Xbox it looked like a massive cluster**** of terrible ideas that are only gonna infuriate a lot of gamers. Then it just seems like everything I read, I also read something else a little later that basically just says "Yeah, that was all bull****." |

PS4, definitely. The Xbone may have scrapped some of its most glaring problems but it still involves paying more for a terrible piece of software like Kinect. And the PS4 will probably still have the better selection of Japanese games even if the new Kingdom Hearts is going multi-platform now.

Yeah, they recently went back on almost everything they said. The damage is already done though and it's still not going to bode well for microsoft.
They are still 100 bucks more expensive and only loyal fanboys will pick it up over the PS4. We already started this discussion about the two consoles in this thread. http://www.musicbanter.com/media/680...-gaming-7.html Also one minor detail about the DRM issue. Both consoles are leaving it up to third party developers as to how they want to deal with it so most likely games from EA and Activision will have some sort of DRM.

I bet EA is kicking themselves in the ass for ditching their online pass system. They can't bring it back but there's not a lot else they can besides make their games online mandatory and say they need to use the Cloud processing to improve the game's performance, which wouldn't be too far of a stretch considering half of the Xbone's RAM is dedicated to the OS.
Honestly I really wish the PS4 was backwards compatible because I really want to buy one, but there's a lot of PS3 games I want to get caught up on and it would be a hell of a lot more convenient for me to just have one console rather than two. I wish I had more info on what the PS3 library will be like for download on the PS4, because if newer games like The Last Of Us are on there then I may just skip the PS3 and move straight on to that and just use it play PS3 games for awhile. Also if they get HBO GO, HuluPlus, and Amazon Instant Video service it would make the decision a lot easier. |

I'm in the same boat. But Sony has been pushing the cloud based service as an alternative to backwards compatibility. So I think there will be a lot of depth in games list, as opposed to it being just a collection of greatest hits.

Microsoft have left a ****ty taste in the mouths of all their fans, even after backtracking with the Xbox One. I really doubt their console will gain much traction this time round.
Windows 8, Surface, Xbox One... Steve Jobs would've really revelled in seeing all of this failure. |

Xbox One No Longer Requires Kinect to Function - IGN
Huh. I still wouldn't buy one of these but at least they're starting to listen to consumer feedback. |

Even with all of these massive changes the Xbox is making, i still won't get one. Like Circe said, I'd rather get japanese games and the games that are usually on xbox (SHOOTERSNSPACEMARINES) don't appeal to me. Looks like I'm on the PS side.
