I get it. You don't care about the steam box but there are many other PC gamers that do.

I'm just saying, i've known plenty who have said the same that I have. And I have used a 55 inch flat screen for my monitor as well, and a few of my friends have done the same. I'm not saying I don't care about it, i'm just saying if the reason being is to use it on a big screen, getting a big screen for your PC is just the same.

I don't personally have one but I also don't live in NYC. I do live in a tiny ass apartment though.

I haven't picked up or even played a next gen console yet, but the graphics I've seen look a bit disappointing. I know it's not as big of a jump as the last generation was, but it still seems very underwhelming to me. I think it has to be the main reason why they're doing so many live-action trailers for both systems.

That's nothing new though, it generally takes game devs a few years to learn all the tricks to get the most out of the system's specs. The Xbox 360 launch lineup in 2005 didn't look all that different from games of that same year like Resident Evil 4, Shadow of the Colossus, or God of War, and I really doubt there's going to be any major noticeable difference between the next-gen games and something like The Last of Us, at least for a few years.
What does have me a little concerned though is that these new machines have been unable to match PC games in terms of 1080p or 60+FPS (frames per second). If they can't do this now, when this is pretty standard for most PC gamers, where are they going to be 5 years down the line when 4K becomes the standard? The gap in technology between PC games and console games grew exponentially over this generation, and with this next one purporting to be even longer (as long as 10 years), it's going to become far more apparent. Honestly I figured the reason this last generation lasted so long was because both Sony and Microsoft were working on some kind of, for lack of a better term, idiot-proof console/PC hybrid that would allow for swapoutable components to customize performance to the user's desire. |

Yeah, it takes time for developers to properly apply their craft using new hardware. Another reason much of the launch software is so visually disapponting is because many of the games were designed for the 360 and PS3 and then ported over to One and PS4 with very little improvement besides the odd graphical effect and increased framerate.

I'm sure you'll see that Ubisoft did a really great job of doing that when Watchdogs gets released.
