I kind of feel sorry for Ahmed Best who played Jar Jar, apparently everybody continually told him that Jar Jar would be a break-out character and be beloved by everyone. Then you're hated by everyone and you constantly have people telling you that your performance "raped their childhood". I mean Star Wars nerds need to get over it and find something else to care about... like I dunno... a life or something, but still, that's got to be pretty soul shattering.

Yeah, I remember reading an interview with Ahmed Best shortly before Phantom Menace came out where he said something along the lines of, "I just hope people find the character entertaining and not annoying." It makes me a little sad every time I think about it.

He's been a pretty good sport reprising his role in parodies and fan films. I think fans know it wasn't really his fault.
