See, it even upsets Urban.

Buy your original Star Wars merchandise now, before it later goes on Ebay as "Good old days, collectors edition" items.

I stopped caring about Star Wars a long, long time ago, so this news doesn't really affect me... but I honestly think that Disney could not possibly do a worse job than Lucas was doing. Hell, maybe they'll put some life into the dead horse before they beat it back to death.

I think the very existence of Star Wars is what upsets Urban.
And humanity.

Now just sit back and wait for it: "Star Wars: the musical" and "Star Wars on ice" not forgetting "Toy Story XII --- Buzz Lightyear: the Star Wars years!"

I tell you, if Ridley Scott ever does a deal with Disney I'm gonna make it my life's mission to kill him! :)

I don't have a problem with it, it was a perfectly good series of kids films.
What I have a problem are fully grown men who complain that a series of films aimed at kids has bits that are childish in them, and who then get excited about owning toys from said film & rush out and buy them.

Hey, I thought Boba Fett was cool too .............. when I was 11.

  • Disney begins exerting more control over Pixar. Quality declines dramatically.
  • Disney buys out LucasFilm and plans a vigorous schedule of Star Wars releases. Quality...

Quality declines? I thought WALL-E, UP, and Finding Nemo were good. Granted they need to come up with a more adult oriented formula, and I believe Lucas would still have some type of input into that since it's his baby.

Finding Nemo was almost a decade ago. I'm talking about the past few years when Disney started taking more control. WALL-E was mediocre, Up was dull, Cars 2 was absolutely horrible and Brave was okay but felt exactly like a Disney movie. Toy Story 3 was the only good movie they've made recently imo.

Ah, I need to get out more. I've only seen the three I mentioned, and waited until they came out on cable at that.

I still have hope.

Same here. I used to be a total Star Wars nerd. I even read the books. Those things were atrocious. Even the good ones were only really good when I was a teenager. So, if they screw this up, I won't really be that let down, and if they rejuvenate it, then I'll get to be pleasantly surprised.

And ditto for re-releasing the original trilogy without all the Special Edition crap. The original Special Edition was my first introduction to Star Wars, so except for a few **** ups (Seriously, Greedo shooting first and Han Solo stepping on Jabba's tale and NOT getting instantly killed? **** you Lucas) I didn't really mind it SO much, but replacing the original actor who played the Emperor in ESB, replacing Boba Fett's dialoge with the dude who played Jengo Fett, and replacing Anakin Skywalker with Hayden Christensen at the end of RotJ made the original trilogy unwatchable.
