Changed the links to my own photobucket account. Now you should be able to see them.

Just what I always thought the original trilogy needed, more rocks and blinking Ewoks.

I've been waiting to post this where it might be semi-relevant. Here's a project that somebody did to compare the original Star Wars with the 2004 remaster + extra scenes.

Top half of screen is the new version. Bottom is the old. Only the altered scenes are included/compared (about 15 minutes). No audio.

See it here

Read about the details of the project here

Right click on the image, select "View in Other Tab" or something along those lines, and you should be able to see them once they're loaded into your picture cache. It's what I do whenever someone posts a movie poster from IMBD in the Latest Film You Watched thread.

You can see them on the previous page. The post when I quoted them on this page still contains the old links.

If anybody has some time I really recommend the critique of the first 3 episodes by redlettermedia

it's one of the funniest, most sincere, most fucked up reviews/documentary i've seen.

Meh. I'm not saying anything about them as actors, but the script was such balls that the characters were still two dimensional and uninteresting. The plots of those movies were just incapable of drawing you in, so even characters that could have been good were stale.

Gag. In the original he looked emaciated and horrifying. In the new one the prosthetics made him look like a bloated alcoholic. How does your makeup get worse with time and extra money? Lucas. That's how.

You know, I could have forgiven the new trilogy somewhat if they had given us a badass Dark Jedi Anakin at the end. And no, whiny little angry teenager Anakin doesn't count. The whole reason anyone gives a fuck about Darth Vader is because he was a badass Dark Jedi who choked people the fuck out because that's just what badass Dark Jedis do. It's in the job description. Everything that added to his character with his relationship with Luke wouldn't have meant shit if he hadn't been a badass Dark Jedi. So, to me, any trilogy about Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader should end with Anakin being a badass Dark Jedi. I shouldn't have to see Anakin become Vader and then have to turn on Episode IV just see him be a true badass. That's like jerking me off but not finishing me off.
