I play FF games for the strategy involved. It takes a bit of mastering for each game, and eventually nailing it makes me feel smart. Games like Skyrim are fun but pretty damn easy. |

anyway, the best turn-based strategy I've ever played was Grandia III but even though the system was good, the story wasn't all that compelling nor were the characters X I only really liked the puzzles - i didn't think the combat mechanics were much good either |
For me I enjoy GTA & Elder Scrolls
I also really miss Ultima Online and Counter Strike. |
Original Donkey Kong.
Yeah I'm old school. That's how I roll. :D |
FFVII hands down. Anyone who says otherwise has no clue what they're talking about ;)

Going back to the Final Fantasy talk though... would FF7 really be considered the best if it hadn't gone 3d and was presented the same as all the previous ones? |

The only other reason I see were the distinctive stylish characters. |
Darksiders 2
IS just awsome to play Death |
For RPG's I'd go with TES: Skyrim.
For RTS I'd go with Rome: Total War, maybe Total War: Rome II once it comes out, though C&C is high up there. For FPS Halo 4. For racing I'd probably go with Burnout Revenge. For action-adventure either Assassins Creed 2, or AC: Brotherhood. For 3PS I'd go with Gears of War 2 or 3. Platformer would be Super Mario World. For survival horror, probably one of the Dead Rising games. Maybe one of the Dead Space games. I can't pick for music games, it'd probably be something like a mix of Rock Band 2, for the on disc setlist, multiplayer, world tour, with Guitar Hero 3's hitbox sizes, with Rock Band 3's DLC, pro modes/instruments, with Rocksmith's pro/real guitar chart layout, and ability to use any guitar with 1/4 inch output. Overall I'd have to go with Halo 4. |

Actually, I take that back, 2 deserves credit for basically making Xbox Live what it is. Every other game in the series has been bombastic, Michael Bay type firefights over and over again ad nauseam. That's my main gripe with the FPS genre as a whole. If it doesn't introduce some sort of open world or RPG elements (a la Borderlands or Fallout), it is simply another generic corridor shooter. Those got old long ago, unless they manage to excel in another category, like Bioshock did with it's story. |

Fat, Ugly or Slutty I know not everybody on Xbox Live are like the people from that website, but there are really no repercussions for the harassment people experience (usually women) while they try to game. It makes me curious how many women actually cancel their Xbox Live membership, and there's no reason for Microsoft not to do something about it. I dunno, I'm pretty biased against multiplayer because it seems like only a few games come around each year that excel in the story department. I can't help but notice this shift started around the point when multiplayer started to get really popular, like around 2004-2005 with the rise of Xbox Live. What bugs me the most is I wonder how many of these people who sexually harass women are under the age of 18, as children and teenagers are more likely to have a console. I mean what would their parents think if they found out their 13 year old messaged a female player that he was going to rape her? Dig deep enough on that website and you'll find those examples, and not only the horrible implications of an emerging generation of misogynistic men, and this just seems to be completely ass backwards. I know it's the anonymity that makes people be complete assholes online, but the implications that this could have on the future is kind of frightening. /preach I agree, his list is mostly shit. |

As for console online multiplayer, I don't touch it unless I'm playing with friends and I hate the shift towards multiplayer-centric content as well. It's making me seriously consider getting a gaming PC and ditching consoles altogether, because with online gaming came day one DLC and all that other nonsense. |

I decided to buy GTA 4 instead. |

I don't like it that much but I'm only 10% into the game. Still on the first island. |

I'm only 25% but that's because I've been doing all the side quests. |

I just started playing Fallout 3 for the first time. I downloaded it off XBL a few weeks ago, and I have to say I like it more than Skyrim. So Fallout 3 takes first place for my favourite RPG as of now.

Naruto ultimate ninja storm 2 on ps3

I'm so excited, for Christmas I'm getting a new computer and Fallout 3 and New Vegas. CANNOT wait!
|
i've played both of those games like 150 hours each. You should get skyrim too if you like the new fallouts
|
Wow good stuff! Oh baby I'm way ahead of you, I'm saving my coins and buying it the minute I am having a break from study. :)

i think a fallout with the skyrim engine would be crazy sick. They've probably done at least some initial design on it

Still prefer Elder Scrolls as a series, but they are both 10/10 series |
For me Mario and Cadillacs And Dinosaurs are the best game of all time.

Balloon Fight is the best by far lol, love that game

Halo 3 still takes it's rightful place in being the best thing ever created. While games like Fallout (which take a dump on Skyrim anyday) take hundreds of hours, so much exploration, and so much to be found, I just can't find myself to do it all over again. Halo 3 campaign was so much fun, alone or with three other people online. I played when multiplayer in general was at it's peak. Remember SOCIAL Slayer? When people used their mics to just chat up the other players, and not just piss you off, nowadays, less than 2 people with mics in every damn lobby! Custom games was also a whole new deal, I played well over 1,000 games in each playlist (Social, Ranked, Custon), but by far Halo 3 Custom Games will be one of the best lobbies ever, there was never a shortage of people, no one kicked you if you joined randomly, the more the better. Classic gametypes, Alpha Zombie, Toilet, Races, Micheal Jackson, Cops and Robbers, it makes me sad just thinking about the fun once had. **** Halo 4, although I knew I would end up buying it just like every other Halo let down after 3.

Halo 3 was the worst Halo by FAR.

Halo 3 supported huge custom communities by itself for years on end. That game change Halo, and it all went downhill after. |

If I were to rank the series it'd go: CE > 2 > Reach > 3 Haven't played enough of 4 to give an opinion but it seems liike more of the same. I'm pretty bored of the series at this point. |
