I believe Kingdom Hearts is the best game of all time (check the username, haha). It's got everything that makes a great game I think; wonderful story, super talented voice actors, great balance of action and puzzles, side-quests for the completionists. And of course epic boss battles in tons of Disney universes! It makes you nostalgia the FIRST time you play it haha. The rest of the series doesn't live up to the standard this game set though. I think the best series of games is between the Metal Gear series and the Grand Theft Auto series. Though the Team Ico works (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) might be in contention when their latest one comes out, those games just take the art form to a whole new level.

I think that game would make a better candidate for 'personal favorite' rather than objectively a best of all time game.

I mean I was basing the pick on the sheer quality of the game, rather than its influence and innovation and what have you. And I think based on that it's at least a contender; it was very critically acclaimed.

This one is easy, haha. My favourite game ever is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Zelda is the best series as well. At the time Ocarina & A Link to the Past opened up a magical world for me, rife with adventure, mysteries and discoveries, and is of vital importance to most anything I later searched for in various forms of entertainment. And a great asset to my imagination and creativity as well. I also enjoyed Wind Waker a lot, and Twilight Princess was simply awesome, like a OoT remix in some ways. Majora's Mask was entertaining, but it was the Gamecube version I tried out, and it proved to be too buggy to ever finish, sadly. :( As such, it's not a favourite of mine. I haven't tried Skyward Sword yet, but most people at least seem to dig it, so it's in my queue.

As for all the handheld versions, none really swept my off my feet. Some of them were enjoyable, but nothing compared to what could be experienced on console.

My all time favorite game and I would say the best game of all time would be Chrono Trigger because it really brought the genre to new heights and introduced so many mechanics and things that were previously unheard of.

Also Super Mario World should be considered one of the best games of all time since it still so fresh and amazingly fun to this day.

I've had more fun playing super smash brothers with my friends than any other game ever. The best times have actually come after high school too. Is it the best? Probably not. It's my favorite though.

Phantasy Star Onine series - spent too much time on this game online. A new one comes out on the PSP online later this year

Favourite game may be ToeJam & Earl for the Sega Genesis. I'd actually forgotten about it until I randomly found my Genesis, and all the memories came flooding back, where my brother and I would play this non-stop. Coolest game of all time, with awesome music.

HM: Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Bioshock, Resident Evil 4

Favourite series is probably Zelda.

RE4 is really....beyond words.

For me it's a tough choice between
  • Ocarina of Time (probably my vote)
  • Resident Evil 4
  • NBA 2k13

I could have sworn that I posted in this thread before, but whatever. I'll just post my personal Top 5:

5. Perfect Cherry Blossom
4. Portal 2
3. Persona 4
2. Fallout: New Vegas
1. To the Moon/Metal Gear Solid 2 (I know that it's a tie, but I couldn't decide as to which I prefer)

My runner-ups would be Mother 3, Virtue's Last Reward, and BioShock.

I know that this is an old post, but I personally hate it when people actually say stuff like this.

What is this nonsense!?

Alright, I am NOT bashing you or anything, but you HAVE to elaborate on Sons of ****ing Liberty being in your list. I though MGS2 was fun, but if you're going to include a Metal Gear Solid game, it has to be MGS.

Raiden is one of the worst main character I've ever seen in a video game.
