Your Favorite HBO Show

If your favorite wasn't included, then it probably isn't worthy :thumb:

Easy choice for me, the show that made HBO what it is:

It always has been, and probably forever will be The Wire. Easily the best written show that has ever graced the airwaves, the show was such an uncomfortable look at the problems that plague urban America in a way that gives everybody a fair share. The utilization of local unkown actors made the drama feel all the more immediate and real. I cannot stress, nor really fully describe what made The Wire the show that it was, but I can assure you that it deserves all the praise it gets.

Best opening scene ever.

I figured The Wire would be the most popular choice. It's not immune to criticism like a lot of people think, and I still like The Sopranos and Lost better than it, but it's a pretty damn good show.

It's definitely not immune to criticism, but it does so many things right that it's really hard to notice. In fact, the only real criticism I've heard from people is that the show is just too dark and depressing for them.

I have some bones to pick with season 5 as well, I think the show faltered a bit during that season.

It never faulters like those episodes when tony is in a coma, i hated those

I have watched The Wire three times all the way through, and I have enjoyed it more each time. Such a dense television show that is more akin to a novel (not that I read much) than anything else.

And Curb Your Enthusiasm is second for me.
