If you thought the guy who made Pulp Fiction was going to make a more historically accurate Roots, I don't know why you thought that. People talking about how unrealistic a movie is don't understand that movies aren't for educational purposes. Its primarily why movies aren't cited in academic papers 90% of the time. Its why they sell popcorn and beer at the movie threaters but not at the book store, its why you take dates to the movies and not to the ****ing library.

I didn't agree with any of the racial components in that Cracked article, I did like the dry humor break-down of the plotholes that I remember thinking at the time.

All the backlash has been from the black community. Some believe slavery does not need to be re-told in the form of a spaghetti western. Fred's link is a new example of it.

I liked the movie, thought it was kick ass, but this doesn't seem to be one of those instances of white people being overly sensitive towards the portrayal of blacks.

I've only encountered black people with issues with the content of the film if i may be honest.

Whomever said it was "only black people" must have made the mistake of talking about physical action against the film, not including user ramblings on some half-assed comedic page.

So you're saying only black people took physical action against the film? What does that mean, they punched the film? What is "physical action" and are you suggesting only white people left the assult against the film in the "marketplace of ideas?"

Cause what you're saying is bordering on the fairly stereotypical.

I think you intentionally picked a term obscure enough that i have no clue what you mean really.
