The monk does look very cool, but he was the class I least enjoyed in the beta. As to that, the Witch Doctor was wicked fun so that's what I plan on starting out as. It's also partly due to tradition, as the Necromancer was my first D2 character.
I will play through Normal solo so I can enjoy all the cutscenes and lore at my leisure, as well as spend the time to explore every nook and cranny without protest. But if anyone wants to hook up for Nightmare and beyond, shoot me a friend request! My tag is Gusterr#1254 |

In 3 months I plan on having a new computer - a desktop - and the first thing I'm buying to play on it is Diablo 3 and the latest Fallout games. I actually am drooling at the thought.
Edit: This is classed more as media which is why it's there now.

I'm really looking forward to this after reading about it, really want to play some kind of D&D type roleplaying game. Still need to finish Skyrim and Fallout Vegas before I even think about buying this game. As for how long I'll wait depends on what gamers say about it here.

Truly customizable character development and engrossing story plots are not what you're going to find in Diablo. Unending hordes of monsters and demons to click on until they explode in a wondrous pile of bloody guts and body parts on the other hand, that doesn't seem to ever stop. That's not to say you can't customize but it's different this time around, you choose which skills to make active, not which ones you learn. |

I played the open beta and a little last night. I'm a monk for now but his attacks drive me insane. The teleport punch-thing was giving me epilepsy.
Love the game, but its crazy click-oriented. I can only play for so long before I get concerned I'm getting carpal. EDIT: Also,

I've been using a monk as well and not a fan of the tele-punch either. There's only one creature that I've found so far where it's beneficial. Some sort of skeletal summoner that constantly runs from combat, but the dash attack works just as well. The weak unfocused attack (crippling wave) works REALLY well in a group though, slowing the movement and attack abilities of a mob of monsters is pretty awesome when you've got 3 ranged classes behind you hehehe
