Good Netflix **** I've checked recently:

Monsieur Lazhar
French language (via Quebec) and subtitled accordingly. Still, a fantastic coming-of-age tale, which tugs at the heartstrings. The title character is a refugee who has taken the teaching position of a woman who committed suicide inside her classroom, her body seen by a couple of her elementary school - in American terms, think grade six - students.

Snow on tha Bluffs
I don't know how legit it is, and frankly, don't care. It purports itself as a documentary about a crack dealer, in a bad Atlanta, GA neighborhood, and is compelling from beginning to end.

Dear Zachary
I cried so much watching this. The premise of this documentary is that a man was murdered, ostensibly by his Canadian ex-girlfriend, who turned out to be pregnant with his child, Zachary. The film is introduced as being a letter to this Zachary about the father he would never know...but, well...watch it to find out.

Better off Ted
A television series about a company that is funnier than you'd guess. Portia de Rossi is the reason I checked it out, and it is funny, with an abundance of likeable and intriguing characters and relationships.

Oh man, I watched that a while ago. Great documentary but absolutely soul crushing.
