Sci-Fi
What are your favourite examples of sci-fi media?
One of my personal favourites are the Mass Effect games. They do a great job in tricking you into thinking you're playing in an open ended universe, but it's fairly linear. Has a lot of interesting species, great characters and development, and the story has touched me on a personal level many times. Can't wait for the final game in the trilogy next year. |
If I don't scrub my toilet after a few days, it gets pretty sci-fi.

Star Trek, man.
For games, the Mass Effect games are a favourite, definitely. Deus Ex and System Shock too. |
I barely play any games now, but I enjoyed Startopia, the first Max Payne, Deus Ex and Freelancer.

how about sci-fi in media I despise?
despite they saying a lot of films are sci-fi, they aren't really - most are just space westerns or space operas (*kaff* *kaff* Star Wars *hack*) those that are really "sci-fi" I can count on my fingers - 2001, Silent Running, the original Solaris, Blade Runner, Dark City, Gattacca |
^ Good man for the Dark City shoutout. It's what you can only describe as a bizarrely overlooked movie.

As for games, I don't play them anymore. |
Am really into Halo.
I like Sci-fi. I like grunge (not just the music, but also the aesthetic: Grunge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , like running around in green and drab colors,) The Space Marines of Halo combine both of these in my mind! http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...tlefield-1.jpg |
I actually enjoyed Spore, at least the Cell, Creature and Space stages. Tribal got a bit boring because it was so limited. The Civ stage was Ok too, just not as challenging to me as the rest.

well, I am getting Mass Effect 3 this weekend
