Those big creepy black beatle things? They were tougher for me at first as well. But for some reason, I'm not sure why, the Falmer seem to have gone up in toughness as I've leveled up. I can breeze through Chaurus without much difficulty (except the giant ones in that Lighthouse) but there are some Falmer like the Shadowmaster and Nightprowler which kill me pretty fast.

I'm just talking about the Falmer in general, not in that one cave. It's probably because the Chaurus are weak to magic, that's why I find them easy.

I have to seperate the Chaurus and lure them to a trap where I can use Lydia to attack them and me from behind, fire works quite well on them as well. I'm still on level 8 but have a lot of time over the weekend to level up.
The Frost spiders really spook me out but at least they are easy to kill.
