It helps to use amulets, necklaces, rings, potions, etc. that buff smithing before you do it. I'm sure you knew that already though. Just sayin'. 2. "House of Horrors". Go to Markarth and there's a house with a guy standing outside of it asking if you've seen anyone go in it. You obviously haven't, but choose to help him investigate and you'll start the quest. Be sure to make a separate save outside the house first, because there's a bug sometimes that can trap you inside it.

Stormcloaks... were there. And since I'm planning to finish the game again some day, preferably as an *******(arse-hole) necromancer or some fun character like that, I figured the "good guys" will do for now. The nords are a bunch of xenophobes anyway, as corrupt and prejudiced as the empire they're fighting. This moral ambiguity is refreshing, there are no paladins in shiny armor, bringing justice and democracy through superior firepower.
All daedric weapons are upgradeable, I think. One thing I would recommend is you get a ring or an amulet of smithing (the one I use gives a 20% bonus), they're fairly common and it enabled me to upgrade items from epic to legendary. Also, ebony bows - I thought they were stronger than glass ones ? I haven't upgraded any ebony bow fully yet, but at epic it's ~25 dmg behind the epic glass bow I'm using. |

Mace of Molag Bal and Mehrunes Razor and so on are upgradeable.
Adding to what Yac suggested, before upgrading, I recommend doing a little enchantment. If you can, enchant a ring, amulet, chest armor and perhaps some more stuff that ups your smithing skill. Equip all that before upgrading any armor and weapons. I've also found a potion that ups your smithing skill a bit for 30 secs called Blacksmith's something .. Enchanted and upgraded (legendary) ebony bow is the most powerful bow I've had yet. The basic ebony bow is more powerful than the glass one.

Daedric bow is better than ebony bow, yeah! And there is supposed to be a nord hero bow, I think, which is better than that again, but perhaps it's rare.

I've discovered these 9 liches with iron masks that you can collect and put on this statute. I've already played a lot and when I discovered that I have 2 out of 9 and yet another thing I wanna do before I continue on the main story line, I was like .. Okay, I'm gonna be here for a while longer
