I'm loving Skyrim. I'm not playing it endlessly at the moment cause the new game feeling kinda wore off. It's still amazing, I just hop on for a little bit every day and mess around.
I'm playing a warrior at level 33, got black smithing capped at 100, and my other main skills are around the 75 mark. |

So am I the only one who played this game as a mage? Being a warrior is just too stale and boring for my liking. The only problem with being a mage is that the destruction spell damages don't scale so it gets pretty tough in the higher levels. And I never cheated the system with smithing/enchanting whoring, though I did max out my enchanting skill, to stay in line with my pure mage class
Ready for some DLC soon Bethesda! |

I never even touched mage. I think the only time I ever even used magic (beyond shouts or powers) was when they made me do it at Winterhold those few times. I don't even use my healing magic. I do enchant the balls out of stuff, though.
I dunno what it is, but I'm on my second character and I still love being a warrior. Maybe it's the sadist in me, but there's nothing more satisfying than strategically (yet quickly and ruthlessly) wrecking an entire camp full of Foresworn and decapitating nearly a third of them... with a sword enchanted with absorb health and enchanted Daedric armor with all sorts of stamina buffs. DLC is yes. I'm waiting.

Playing a mage is ... well, not as fun as I was hoping it would be. The mage quest line is as fun as it is short, if it lasted 3 times as long I'd be praising it. Plus to me, it was kind of too easy - cast a dual hand flame cloak, ice cloak, run around and enemies die. Around lvl 26 with the archmage robes, the dragon mask that gives you +100% magicka regen, a full set of 20-40% resistance boots and roughly 20k in cash, I decided this is no fun. Sure I could have increased the difficulty level, but that wouldn't really be more fun, just frustrating.
So I created yet another, at this point lvl 22 Imperial archer/soldier/assasin and it's been a blast. I might be alone on this but to me both regular combat and spellcasting suck - only archery gives me the satisfaction and makes me feel I'm actually using skill, not just button mashing. As for DLC, from what I heard they're not going to be releasing a ton of small 9$ add-ons that will add amazing stuff like horse armor They're planning to do something similar to what they did with Oblivion - "old school big" add ons. |

The sad thing for me is that by the time the add-ons come, I've already played Skyrim until I got pretty fed up with it. It was a blast, but I won't need another fix in a long time. Possibly not before the next Elder Scrolls is out!

Also (*OVERUSED JOKE ALERT*), I'm holding out for some special $10 knee armor that Bethesda releases, can't take too many more arrows. Last edited by midnight rain; 01-12-2012 at 05:46 AM. |

I do find it odd though that not a single combat skill falls under the thief constellation (not even one-handed) |
