My inspiration to play this again took an arrow to the knee, when as a 28 lvl breton mage I got a dragon mask that speeds up magicka regen by 100%. This, with the archmage robes and a bunch of other trinkets means the game stopped being challenging.
I'm waiting for the DLC, which are supposed to be huge.

I haven't been playing it lately either. Played BF3 a couple times, and ended up having a pretty decent match. Then I stopped playing because I didn't wanna jinx it.

I think I'll keep going back and forth, though. I still haven't even finished the main quest in Skyrim.

I tried playing Oblivion the other day before Skyrim came out. I died three times in the tutorial. Goddamn rats.
So yeah, I'm not good enough at RPGs to play this game. Looks so good too. =\

What the f*ck, Bethesda? Why, all of the sudden and out of the blue, is my game just freezing, dropping tons of frames, and becoming unplayable?
Even before this problem, I used a mod for increasing the amount of RAM Skyrim would use. And I have 12 gigs of it, so I know I'm not running out. But, apparently, after the latest "patch", the large address awareness patch I'd been using was broken.
So I found another mod to let Skyrim see at least 4 measly gigs of RAM (seriously, game designers... accept the fact that 64 bit systems with at least 8 gigs of ram are probably mainstream by now... douches.) and it worked for a while, but no matter what, I'm still getting intense lag.
Didn't happen at all on my first playthrough... or rather, my first 50 hours or so. After re-starting, (and updating), I'm barely a level 20 something and I feel like I'm participating in stop motion photography.

I know it isn't my hardware. My 560Ti never had a problem before and even runs like butter in BF3. My i7960 processor as well. What the f*ck, Bethesda? I know it's your fault. Don't even try to pretend it isn't.

I read somewhere that Bethesda suggested PS3 players sleep or wait for 30 days to fix some issues. Perhaps you could try that? Just save before you do it in case it does nothing.

Really?
If I do that and it works... I don't even...

Anyway, it's too late now. I'm too sufficiently annoyed by the ordeal to justify risking the possibility that I'll be playing any longer at this late hour.

One thing about their games is they are not stable. Morrowind and Oblivion both have massive problems running, and if its modded that multiplies 10 fold.

I think its retty expected with a game this size thought. So much content that can go wrong. In time I am sure it will get lots of important fixes.

Well, the latest patch helped a bit. Bethesda finally rolled out a patch that makes Skyrim aware of up to 4 gigs of RAM, and uses it. (Apparently better than the mod I had that did the same thing) I still get lag in certain places, like the Cistern in Riften's Ratway, and places that have a lot of running water, but it's far more tolerable now.

Also, I turned shadow quality down from ultra to high, and that seemed to help a lot. The game recommends ultra settings for my setup, but screw it. I'm not sitting there marveling at the quality of the shadows.
