This is my first time posting in this thread, so I'll just get right to the point. Why is Adam Sandler so appealing? He's not funny at all, and I don't really enjoy his movies all that much.

"Punch Drunk Love" was okay, but I only watched it because it was written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Eh, I liked Happy Gilmore quite a bit when I was younger and that's kind of stuck with me, so I maintain that is a good movie. And Punch Drunk Love showed he was at least a bit versatile. The Waterboy has always been terrible, even when I was 10. He's still leagues ahead of David Spade and Kevin James, I hate those guys.

Every comedy post-2000 of his has been absolute ****.

Adam Sandler had an expiration date. He was funny on Saturday Night Live, his first two albums were hilarious and so were Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and to a lesser extent, The Wedding Singer, but he lost it after that. Also, unfortunately, like a lot comedy, his stuff that was hysterically funny at the time but hasn't aged all that well.

Billy Madison has its moments, but it's hard to sit through the whole thing because at points it has Sandler acting unbelievably stupid to the point of unfunny. A sign of things to come...

But it also has this scene, which is great for responding to stupid posts online with

Billy Madison - Ultimate Insult (Academic Decathlon) - YouTube

Like I said, funny at the time, but hasn't aged well.
