Wavelength was a great movie and deserved the hype that it got solely due to the aesthetics. Koyaanisqatsi was a piece of crap movie even though it did have its moments of beautiful imagery.

I was gonna do a coherent, sentence-based post here, but I think I'll just list 10 films I actually quite liked that a lot of people I know hate. Here goes;
Alien 3 Anything Else Big Nothing Cassandra's Dream Dead and Breakfast Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom Music and Lyrics My Name Is Bruce Silent Hill Star Trek V: The Final Frontier |

Shawshank Redemption is a great movie, but not particularly noteworthy, and nowhere near it's inexplicable notoriety.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Who the hell doesn't like the Temple of Doom? That movie kicks ass. Especially when comparing it ot the turd that is Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Kali maaaa Silent Hill - I thought it did a great job of taking the game and turning it into a very entertaining movie. There were some elements that they had to combine from Silent Hill 2 the game (such as Pyramid Head) that I felt they missed the point of (all the enemies in the game are very symbolic of some inner turmoil of the main characters)...but overall I thought it was good. I even think they left it open for a sequel that would still "fit in" to the games in a genius way. The second game was unrelated to the first aside from being set in Silent Hill...it was about a guy named James looking for his missing wife. With the way the first movie ended, they could easily set that plotline up with good ol' Sean Bean...yet they keep the storyline's characters consistent. Star Trek V - Yeah...there's not much I can say to defend this festering turd of a movie. I prefer pretending that it just doesn't exist. Yeah, they went straight to the Undiscovered Country.

the original trilogy is vastly overrated, and the new trilogy is about a million times worse than that samurai wizards and space Nazis in outer space? really? |
