I do not see the appeal to Eraserhead. I've watched it on multiple occasions, both stoned and sober and neither experience did anything for me. The only scene I particularly liked was the one where Mary is feeding her freak baby. I've seen most of David Lynch's movies and enjoyed them all (including Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me) but this is one that I just can't get into and it always leaves me in an awkward position if I ever run into other movie geeks, one of which I almost got into a fight with because of his condescending attitude and the fact that I was drinking whiskey. I 'unno, maybe this is something that I was just not meant to "get".

Not sure if it's necessarily unpopular, but not certainly the most popular opinion. Donnie Darko is the greatest time travel movie ever.

Perfectly valid reasons for liking it, I mean it definitely is one of the most surreal movies I've ever seen, and I know that reason is kind of a dirty word where surrealism is involved, but the film tried to have its cake and eat it. Perhaps my animosity from the film just stems from the amount of bullshit I've had to put up with from film geeks about not liking it.

i'm pretty much ambivalent about it

my fave Lynch is "Elephant Man"

I think Idris Elba should be the next James Bond. After the backlash he received as Heimdall in the Thor movie (despite owning EVERY scene he was in), I think this decision would really piss a lot of people off and prove unpopular. That said though, it would finally prove the fan theory that 007 and James Bond are just code names, which explains how 007 went from fighting Russians in the cold war to fighting terrorists in the post-9/11 world as well as the jarring shift in tone from the various actors. I mean the man is handsome, well spoken, charismatic, British, and a good actor, so what if he's black. If we can have a black president then I think we can have a black Bond.

oh man, there was such a shit storm over a Bond that had blond hair, it'd be hilarious to see the reaction/backlash that would happen if that were to happen.
