maybe we are talking about two completely different things then.

you were a bit vague on what you believe the problem is

New Age still. You said "New Wave" - which you're not. Kindly read both posts again.... (and the bolded words) i think it's your 720 kps that makes you mistype and misread words

True, but I think maybe the anti-guns politics in this country help create that environment where I don't have to constantly worry about those things.

And it's not like those hostile environments are getting any better when people keep acting the same way. But I have to agree with you DJ; You got to defend yourself when your life is in danger. But only when your life is in danger. If I can, I choose the path of least resistance. Aka: RUNAWAAAAY!

But what IS sound, if there is nobody to hear it?

By the time high school rolled around I was more average height than tall compared to other people but I think I was kind of entrenched in people's minds as someone they didn't want to mess with so I never had any problems with being bullied or anything.
I wouldn't say got bullied as such either, and since school I've managed to keep under the radar for the most part. I kind of look a certain way that keeps me out of trouble, I feel. And whenever I have found myself in some trouble, I've usually been the one trying to calm things down.

I gotta say though, even though I would generally claim to be happy about being the guy who usually tries to defuse situations or break fights up, sometimes it really, really does not pay off.

Anti-gun laws are only good if they are reasonable and enforceable. Whether guns are legal or not, the bad guys will ALWAYS have them. I'd feel more comfortable if the average joe had the ability to own a handgun if he so pleases to. Missouri (where I live) is a right to carry state. I sleep better at night knowing that if I need a gun, I can get one.
