with one movie "lost", I'd doubt you get to see the trilogy Hitler banned the Golem movies, in case you're interested He also banned most Fritz Lang movies after Lang deserted Germany, except for the Uber Alles "Metropolis" and "Die Nibellungen" (both written by Nazi sympathiser and Lang's ex-wife Thea Harbour) I have a strong interest in Weimar-era silent German films |

Says a lot about Hitler. Goebbels however hated Lang's films, and believed they were nothing more than Jewish propaganda. He had them banned.

The Golem is a Jewish myth/legend. He is given life by the Star of David amulet to help abused and mistreated people.
As for Lang, "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" is a direct metaphor for the Nazi Menace. And also, it contains the blueprint for bringing Berlin to ruins and Germany with it. |
