I voted Scott Pilgrim, maybe it wasn't better on a technical level than some of the other contenders, but I felt that for the first time (and after years of unsuccessful attempts ala Batman & Robin or Hulk) a comic book was really brought to life in film.

I really liked The Ghost Writer. The atmosphere of the movie was just wonderful. The story itself was well-written, too. Roman Polanski is just a brilliant director.

Wow, what a great year in film, and I have actually seen nearly all of these. I didn't have a clear favorite but I gave my vote to The Fighter. It was a good film on every level. Inception, Black Swan, Toy Story 3, The Social Network, Shutter Island, True Grit, 127 Hours, Kick Ass, and The Town were all great too. The year could have used comedy of the same quality as The Hangover, but I won't be too picky...

Black Swan, it hit me on a completely different level than any other movie I've seen this year.

True Grit for me, closely followed by Toy Story 3. The acting was superb and I love westerns in general. Also it was a relief after A Serious Man, which I was disappointed by.

Yeah. I mean we get all these revelations, some triumphant music plays, and

Spoiler for The Ghost Writer:
he runs out into the street and gets struck by a car.

Gee, at least it had a good payoff, Roman.
