Black Swan-An amazing psychological thriller/horror movie. Everything about this movie is perfect in my eyes. It's my favorite movie of all time. And of course, it got snubbed by the Oscars.

Kill Bill-Well-thought out, put together action. Revenge is sweet.

Fight Club-A movie that really makes you question the ethics of masculinity, commercialism, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Amazing ****.

I'll say:

American Beauty: Possibly the best character-driven piece I've seen, and it's not lacking at all in overall storyline, well-written script, or cinematography. Just an extremely quality film.

All About Eve: Another very character-driven piece. Made in 1950, it doesn't always immediately appeal to people in this day and age. Still, it has an extremely clever script, a flawless cast, and a wonderful story.

Pontypool: Very underappreciated gem in the "zombie" film genre, in my opinion. Very different sort of "zombies", and most of the film takes place in a radio station which is for most of the film separated from the action, just getting bizarre reports in from those out of the radio station.

My #1 recommendation:

I have watched it a million+ times, and have enjoyed it every time.

My #2 recommendation:

Not a lot of people like it surprisingly, I personally found it to be a very good story.

all my other choices would be quite obvious so I recommend:-

Le Doulos (The Fingerman) (French)
Spionnen (Spies) (German silent) and if you can't find that, try The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (the 1931 talkie, not the 1922 silent or the third one, which is crap)
Fallen Angels (Hong Kong)(Chinese)
