This is going to be a pretty one-sided argument. Besides 1 member I don't think you'll find any love for the Twilight series here.
I've only watched the first season of True Blood but it did nothing for me whatsoever. Besides the occasional boob I was pretty bored with the show and the acting. My mom said the book series is far better, but I came into the Vampire literature niche through White Wolf's RPG series Vampire: The Masquerade so everything after that has to compete with that series, not an easy feat. Also comparing True Blood to Twilight is like comparing an edited Eminem CD to an unedited one. Twilight exists to tap into the pre-teen/ teen audience whereas True Blood and just about all the other Contemporary Vampire Novel series are aimed at an adult audience. Edit out the sex and violence, add a Morman under theme to assuage any protective parents that the books are acceptable for their 13 year old daughter and bam! Money in the bank. |

I am so happy that most of you think Twilight is lame. Most people obsess over movies and books. Frankly, the biggest difference shows and the film is True Blood on good characters and actors who reflect well, when Twilight is a terrible actors and characters point of view.

I haven't watched True Blood, either. I liked the Twilight series overall, although I skimmed the last book and had some complaints about the writing style and plot. I especially liked the first Twilight movie.
So, Kayleigh, you aren't the only one who likes Twilight! (I assume Pete was referring to you as the one member who likes it.) Twilight brings out the pre-teen/teen in me, and I kind of like that. I like to imagine that if I were going to be squashed by a car, someone would jump in to save me! And a cute someone. I'll have to check out the novels True Blood is based on. If I liked Twilight, I imagine I'd like those books, too.

I hadn't even realised pete had said one member liked it (damn my ****e skim reading.) I haven't read the last twilight yet, I'm waiting on the film so I don't get majorly disapointed by it after I've read the book. I was so disheartened after the trainspotting film because I read the book first. I want to marry Jacob Black... AND Edward Cullen. At once. <3 ahah. I might give True Blood a bash after I've read the million books I have right now.

I hope the last Twilight movie is better than the last book (the one *I* skim-read). I'm curious to see how they put some of the events onto the silver screen. I won't say more, so I won't ruin it for you.

The Twilight series has a LOT of brooding! Months of it. If you like brooding, you probably couldn't find more brooding in a factory farm hen house.
