I thought Saving Private Ryan was great but Thin Red Line really resonated with me on some very deep level. I still remember going to see that movie in the theater and afterwards being so struck by it that I just wandered around the city thinking about it for a long time. The part on the grassy hills has always especially stood out in my mind, particularly the moment when the plant closes itself up as the soldier touches it.
