Despite my distaste for audience manipulation that is prevalent in many studio based American films, I have to agree on the older Ryan in front of the grave as a great piece of cinema in Saving Private Ryan and the first hour is truly astounding cinema but ****, does the film drag or what?
The Thin Red Line is rewarding but it doesn't have that repeat value for me.
