I loved Drag Me to Hell, and I hate the horror genre. But apart from Drag me to Hell - 28Days Later was really well done as well. It's sequel too, which is rare.

I've never even heard of these two...

Rosemary takes the 3rd round. That was a close slow battle.
ROUND IV Batman (1989) by Tim Burton vs. The Dark Knight (2008) by Chris Nolan |
Batman (1989): 0
vs. The Dark Knight (2008): 1 |
I hate Tim Burton. I love Nolan. I highly recommend watching The Following
Batman 0 Dark Night 2 |

i actually like the Burton Batmans....but they fail in comparison
again The Dark Knight really transgresses the typical "super hero" movie Batman - 0 The Dark Knight - 4 |

Also only the 2nd movie I've seen in the theater in 2010. I saw about 70-100 in 2009 |
Batman - 0
Dark Knight - 5 Never cared for Burton much either. Dark Knight is probably the best comic adaptation that I can remember. |
Batman - 0
Dark Knight - 6 And I love Burton and Nolan. Don't hate guys  |
ambivalence =/= hate

Dark Night 7
Batman 1989 0 I always thought people preferred the original in some ways, because it's the original concept. But yeah, The Dark Night is obviously supremely better so I dunno why I thought that. |

Anyway... The Dark Night: 8 Batman: 0 |

Donno, I just loved the industrial polluted feel I got through out Burton's Batman. The Dark Knight felt a bit too clean, too digital.
Although The Joker was much superior in the latter, but The Dark Knight seemed a bit too revolved around the villain, and somehow I hated Batman's parts. They just seemed to linger on. Plus, I preferred Batman Begins to that one. The Dark Night- 8 Batman- 1 |

I think where Inception fared better than most other films is that its used symbols to deliver a meaning that didn't beat you over the skull, was still logical in the actual plot it had layed out, and lent itself to multiple interpretations. Its narrative was probably the best thing I've seen in quite awhile. Curious to know what you meant by good film/not good film though. |

Dark Knight - 9
Batman 1989 - 1 Although Tim Burton has made some excellent films, I prefer the Dark Knight. Not to mention Heath Ledger's outstanding performance as the Joker (although Jack Nicholson was good in Batman) |
Quote:
I had a theory about Nolan's Batman project being set to be a trilogy, with Batman Begins showing Batman obviously, the sequel presenting the ultimate villain, and finally the third showing both of them equally in the final clash. With Ledger's death though, and his remarkable performance, I don't think they can replace him. |

i heard somewhere that the joker won't be in the final film. also that he(nolan) is excited because he gets to have some finality to it. batman's voice in the nolan ones is a bit annoying i give you that.
|
I think everyone could do without the grunts.
|
^ I didn't notice them in the first one. However, in The Dark Knight, I was laughing uncontrollably during his scenes. It was pretty ridiculous indeed.
|
Uhhh, The Dark Knight.

I'm going to go for the original Batman, as its a movie from my childhood that I've always enjoyed. Dark Knight was also a fantastic film, but didnt do much for me opposed to Batman.

Damn, the older one's really getting some hate. I'm going for the Burton version because I just found it more interesting. The Dark Knight is a really good, entertaining movie, but there's some wackiness in Batman that I enjoyed. I love the odd Joker gadgets, like the foot-long gun.
Dark Knight: 10 Batman: 3 |

I'm gonna vote for The Dark Knight. And actually I don't mind the growl, 'cause when I think about it, the very concept of superheroes seems very silly to me. I mean if I can accept a guy dressing up as a giant bat, I sure can accept the bizarre voice. It goes with the theatrics.
And because, someone haven't counted Violent&Funky's vote, the new result is: The Dark Knight 12 Batman 3 |
And a crushing victory for the Dark Knight!
I'm gonna post the next battle a bit early today, cz I'm leaving in a while. ROUND V The Matrix (1999) by The Wachowskis vs. Inception (2010) by Chris Nolan (So yeah, another Nolan battle, those are the suggestions. I hope there won't be any spoilers) Let the battle begin! |
Inception 1
Matrix 0 I'll admit, I simply fell in love with Inception. It's perfection from beginning to end. |
This was my suggestion, and I'm not sure why. Because I love the ideas and concepts explored in both films, even though Matrix has a lot more originality I just loved Inception, I think it will be remembered in a few years time, just like The Matrix, it not more so.
Inception 2 The Matrix 0 |
