Adaptation was painfully average. /unpopular opinion.

Leaving Las Vegas is Cage's best performance. I love that film.

adaptation is great and i love the screenplay. there is so much going on and most of it is fascinating. it has great performances all around, especially chris cooper.

on the other hand, i thought leaving las vegas was average. maybe i just hate you.

I'm not gonna lie, I think it's a possibility.

Adaptation was a bit slow and quite disjointed, I can see why people like it as much as they do but meh.

Add it to the list along side Saving Private Ryan, ET, Scarface and many other overrated films.

i liked matchstick men too, but it bothered me how similar the characters were and the close frequency of the two films releases.

i will give you ET and scarface, but I liked saving pvt ryan. it wasn't revelatory or anything but it was excellently crafted.

It was, but Cage was type-cast in that role, so I couldn't rightfully include it with his best performances.
