While I respect your opinion of a certain person being or not being funny... I think most people can agree that we don't watch comedy movies and disregard everything but a single actor and what he does or does not do. I just think your argument would be better suited if you were critiquing a solo stand-up act by said actor. |

Here's the thing. I don't even know if I would want a sequel, because sequels are usually crap and diminish the value of the original. And I think Anchorman is basically pretty much the greatest film ever made. So I don't want to have to lower my standards for a reboot. Even if it's a great comedy, I'm sure I'll be disappointed.
How could it be bad though? The only guys you have to bring back is the news team, and each of those guys still have game. It's really a "dream team" of a cast, what with Ferrell headlining with Carell and Rudd. Will Ferrell is funny though. It's like... a fact. Because people laugh at what he does, and he has done many different things that people have laughed at. How can every single laugh be a result of "his environment and the people around him" and not his own actions? That's just ridiculous. And f you think Anchorman is not an extremely popular movie amongst my generation you are terribly mistaken. It's a cult classic that would draw significant attention if a sequel were to be made. Well, you're in the minority on that one...

Easily the most quotable, and possibly the most popular comedy of my generation...

First of all, that movie is six years older so obviously it attracts a slightly different generation. I was eight years old when it came out.
Secondly, that movie is not nearly as funny or quotable!
