I like Miller's Crossing but I do agree that it's not one of their standout movies. I think the issue is it's too much of a regular gangster movie and lacks the things that makes their other movie so unique.

Are Coen Brother's films unique? I'd say so apart from Intolerable Cruelty and Ladykillers. Both a bit cack and one was a remake. No Country wasn't overly unique, 2 bad guys 1 chasing the other for money.. but the way they did it was very good. The Man Who Wasn't There was unique I felt. I feel it's one of their more overlooked films. The Big Lebowski wasn't unique really and people have issues with the ending. I think The Big Lebowski is overrated. Enjoyable but not THAT good... Don't lynch me. ![]() |
