Blog Talk

Hey I currently blog on blogspot and I'm looking to jazz up the layout a little. I want to drop a picture I have into the background of the entire page so no matter what post you're looking at its in the background.

Anyone have any ideas? I think I need to physically edit the HTML as it isn't an option through the service.

So, I'm no computer wiz, and I know you don't read any of my posts, but I think if you figured out the HTML format, you can insert it any part of your layout settings. I don't know. Just a guess.

Yeah I googled the HTML needed to do it, but its hell. You're essentially guessing at landing spots and the predetermined size of the picture.

I gave up, the work doesn't merit the outcome.

You'll probably want to just <center> the background image. I can't remember how to make the picture drop to the background, but it can't be hard. HTML generally isn't, but it's quite limited when it comes to layout.

edit :

Oh right, it's as easy as this :

<BODY BACKGROUND="http://yourpic">

the <body> tag can contain more information as well such as font colours, styles and background colours.

No its not, what it is is mechanical and stiff. I also would then have to make all the photos, text, and border design translucent which again...not worth it.

What I mean are the codes are easy to figure out and even write by hand, but yeah - it's not easy to make a good layout with pure html. It's old-fashioned. I wrote my first homepage in notepad, but noone does that anymore.

If you want a more customizable blog, think about hosting a wordpress blog on your own domain. It's powerful, highly customizable and easy to get into. :)

I'm sitting at my 3rd blog, and with each move I lose readers. I'm trying to stay here if I can. I'll check it out though.

I've never really been very good at staying afloat in the blogosphere myself. I think the way to do so would be to read and comment on a lot of other people's blogs, but for the most part, I just can't summon the interest to do so.

My GF loves reading blogs, though, and it accounts for a lot of her internet time.
