fictional characters that best represent you.
For me, it would be Stephane from The Science Of Sleep. Here he is;
http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/images/vi...e_of_sleep.jpg His childlike naivety and vivid imagination are two characteristics that I feel I have, for better or for worse. Another would perhaps be the unnamed protagonist from The Giro Playboy. Although he is perhaps not entirely fictional since he is primarily based on the books author, I still found myself relating to his embracing of the mundane and also to his sometimes sombre disposition. We are also both underachievers, which helps. http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P...2.LZZZZZZZ.jpg |
I loved the idea of that thread... I'll be thinking of some character very soon.
Btw, as you found yourself in Stephane, did you find yourself in his awkwardness, and his disability to find himself in the real world? |

I relate a lot to (and I know I speak of this book A LOT) Tereza from Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being. In fact, now that I think of it, I relate a lot to many of his female characters. Tereza was also very needy. She had low self-esteem and longed for love. She had this unhealthy relationship with her mother, which I do not have though. Instead, mine is with my father. Her failed relationship with her mother constantly shadows her throughout the book and her life. She was not comfortable in her own skin and sexuality. She leaped at the chance to get away from home and when she met Tomas, she blindly fell in love. Their relationship became tainted with Tomas' infidelities and Tereza's jealousy. I've actually learned a lot about myself in reading this book and have tried to better myself more and more. Jealousy is a constant issue for me, and so is anger. A lot of times for me, they go hand-in-hand. When I can tame my jealousy, I can control my anger. Having control of my anger has been one of the most rewarding things I've experienced in the last year. EDIT: Bane of your existence, yes. God counts. Only if you write out an elaborate explanation. |

Probably the characters that I create myself.

+ http://goremasternews.files.wordpres...on_statham.jpg + http://artfiles.art.com/5/p/LRG/10/1...ny-hopkins.jpg The hard exterior of Ray Winstone who is a bear of a man but one of the nicest guys out there with the down to earth cheeky chappy persona of Statham with the emotional intensity of Anthony Hopkins. Yes I know they are not fictional but the characters they play are some you may not know all the roles they have played and what I like about them. |
Begbie from Trainspotting...
http://www.zonalibre.org/blog/dedosd...gbie_power.gif Just kidding. I have no idea. I'm going to sleep on this question, and I'll edit this tomorrow with someone that isn't a junkie. |
Begbie didn't take drugs though ;)

The Prisoner is most definitely one of the best tv series ever broadcast, but my fictional representation is from the big screen. a combination of these two.

replace all those albums with cd's and you basically have me (only i work in a lab). i related to high fidelity on a ridiculous level...when i first saw this, i was basically going through the same relationship crap (only it didn't have a happy ending) and the friends i hang out with have a similar elitist approach to music appreciation. we shun people with poor taste in music, only i handle like rob gordon. if you have poor taste in music but show an interest in the good stuff, i can handle it. |

That movie changed me...I can't even explain. |
As cliched as it sounds, Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye. I read it right at the tail end of my angsty teenage phase and he just seemed to encompass everything I was feeling at that time. Other than that I can't really think of anybody else minus like... Marten from the webcomic Questionable Content except I'm nowhere near as "shockable" and I'm not the biggest indie rock fan.

Was trying to think of someone cool to represent me, but in the end I probably share the most characteristics with Fry. Very nerdy and dorky, but a cheerful attitude. Horrible with the ladies. It would actually only work though if he was also the most shy person you ever met in your life. So maybe a cross between Fry and this guy I guess? http://uksilentbob.com/images/screen...kbobincoat.jpg |
