No it does make sense. It was a kids book, and it was one of my favorites, but they movie dealt with some really mature subject matter.

Newsweek put it the best though, and I stopped thinking of it as a depressing childrens movie, and more of an actual, intelligent film.

Quote:
The standard line now is that by letting Jonze make Wild Things largely his way—as a movie "about childhood" rather than "for children"—the studio has abandoned (or frightened off) the audience that Sendak's story was originally supposed to reach: actual kids.

Inglourious Basterds was so epic. I saw it three times.

I just watched Moon via davidmovie.com because of this thread. It's so amazing! I'm a little confused, but I'm sure if I watched again I woudn't be.
I wish I could change my vote now... I voted for Star Trek.

I choose Up, it's just easily one of the best animated films of our time and just an all round beautiful movie

A Serious Man! Started so bizarrely and ended bizarrely as well. Definitely unusual, but I expect that from the Coen Brothers. I really enjoyed it. The humor was right up my alley

Toss up between A Single Man and A Serious Man.

Keep forgetting I have to watch A Single Man. I really liked Nocturnal Animals, so... crossing fingers.
