Haha, my 7th grade history teacher was crazy in a sometimes funny, usually really annoying way. But she would often put on movies in class, usually which had nothing to do with actual history:D. For instance when studying Asia we watched Mulan, and this:

I also remember seeing a movie about Julius Caesar and one about Odysseus when we were reading (a fucking very badly edited version of) the Odyssey, because she also taught Language Arts.

But she skipped all the sex scenes, and most of the action:(

You're showing films to raise money and you don't actually know of any good films? Some fundraiser that will be.

I know plenty, but there will be second graders there...It will be quite the fundraiser, we're getting cheeseboard and Ben And Jerry's to cater (For free). If you're in the Bay Area you should stop by and enter our raffle!

There are plenty of "great" movies you can show to second-graders. Show Ratatouille.

How is Ratatouille about social justice?

It was cheesy as hell, but what about Pay it Forward?

The rats are a metaphor for the homeless.

Arya Stark 01-28-2010 01:06 PM

Are we talking about social justice only large scale?
Or small scale too like teacher changes the lives of students that never had a chance?
