C'mon guys? Why the Harry Potter hate? I haven't read the books but at least the first few movies were really good kids films.

I have only seen parts of Twilight, but that was painful enough.

C'mon man, Vampires are f*cking kickass.

I am of course, talking about real vampires. Like Bela Legosi or Christopher Lee's Dracula or Count Orlok or Alucard from Helsing or Alucard from Castlevania or Keifer Sutherland in Lost Boys or Chris Surrandon in Fright Night... Or The Count from Sesame Street.

Those are f*cking vampires, not that pretty boy emo kid.

Word. The vampire's image has become so tarnished in the past year that few people see them as the epitome of being a badass that was intended. Real vampires are fucking awesome, way better than werewolves, which I find much harder to believe when on screen or in books.

It's weird that anyone would defend Harry Potter based on the films. The first two were terrible, the third is quite good, didn't see four or five, the sixth was decent.

But HP is all about the books, and the early books were great children's books. It's interesting to see how the tone and subject matter completely change of the course of the series, but I think the quality of the story telling remained for the most part.

The biggest problem with how the books transformed was that her world was designed to be whimsical and quirky, and when it needs to be dark the gaps in logic are suddenly glaring.

Anyway, I haven't read Twilight but I'm willing to bet that it will be dead and buried long before people forget about Harry Potter.
